Emily Hunt, Ph.D., serves as Dean of the College of Engineering and Professor of Mechanical Engineering at West Texas A&M University (WTAMU). She joined the institution in 2005 and holds B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in mechanical engineering from Texas Tech University (2001, 2002, and 2005, respectively). Her teaching focuses on thermal fluid sciences, including fluid mechanics and thermodynamics.

Dr. Hunt’s research interests include energetic/explosive material reactions and synthesis, high-speed infrared imaging, and engineering education and assessment. She is an active member of professional organizations such as the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), Society of Women Engineers (SWE), Materials Research Society (MRS), and American Society of Engineering Education (ASEE). She advises the student chapters of ASME and SWE at WTAMU.
Her contributions extend to academic leadership, including roles in curriculum development and interdisciplinary initiatives. She has authored books like *Nanostructured Metallic Alloys: Synthesis, Properties, and Applications* and the children’s book *Engineering Elephants*, reflecting her commitment to education and outreach.
