Dr Emily Falconer is a Senior Lecturer in Sociology at the University of Westminster, part of the Social Sciences school. She holds a PhD in gender and tourism from Manchester Metropolitan University (2012) and specializes in feminist theory, affective geographies, and embodied experiences. Her research explores topics such as gender relations in group singing, food tourism, and queer familial dynamics.

She is affiliated with the Centre for Social Justice Research and serves on the executive committee of the Feminist and Women’s Studies Association (FWSA) for the U.K. and Ireland, as well as co-convenor of the BSA Gender Study Research Group. Her current project, In Harmony or Out of Tune?, examines masculinity through group singing.
Emily is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice (2009).
