Emilie Connolly is an Assistant Professor of History at Brandeis University's Department of History. Her research focuses on 19th-century U.S. political economy, colonialism, and Indigenous peoples of North America. She is currently completing a book manuscript titled *Empire's Succession: Trusteeship, Capitalism, and Native Dispossession in the United States*, examining federal fiduciary colonialism.
