Emiliano Acosta is a Senior Lecturer at Ghent University’s School of Philosophy and Ethics, with affiliations to the Secular Studies Association Brussels and Center for Ethics and Humanism. He has held external positions including Guest Lecturer (2020–2025) and Visiting Professor at the University of Catania (2019–present). His expertise spans Political Philosophy, Kant and German Idealism, Enlightenment, Freemasonry, and Cosmopolitanism.
His research explores recognition theories in Schiller, Schelling, and Fichte, natural law, and intersubjectivity. He has contributed to works on aesthetic education, Kantian systematicity, and Spinoza’s sign systems. Recent projects include collaborations with Chinese institutions (VUB-Tongji, VUB-RUC) and a metamodel for institutions with Félix Guattari.
