Advanced Research Center for Nanolithographyمعرفی
Dr. Emilia Olsson is a Group Leader at the Amsterdam Research Center for Nanomedicine & Nanobiology (ARCNL) and an Assistant Professor in Condensed Matter Theory at the Institute for Theoretical Physics (ITFA), University of Amsterdam. She holds a PhD from University College London (2017) and has held postdoctoral positions at the University of Surrey, Imperial College London, and Queen Mary University of London. Her research focuses on atomic-scale materials design using computational modelling techniques, emphasizing collaborations with experimental groups to understand how defects, disorder, and interfaces influence material properties in energy storage systems like sodium-ion batteries.
Educations:
- PhD in Materials Design (2017), University College London
Research Highlights: Pioneered a materials design framework for solid oxide fuel cells and contributed to sodium-ion battery research through atomic-scale insights into carbon materials. Current work addresses challenges in next-generation battery technologies and interface engineering.
Awards: NWO Wise Fellowship (2022).
Advising/Grants: Initiated the Materials Theory and Modelling group at ARCNL (2021), expanding the Materials Department. Collaborates on UK Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund projects.
Labs & Teams: Leads the Materials Theory and Modelling group at ARCNL, integrating computational and experimental approaches to advance materials science.
