Emilia Cederberg is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Accounting at the Stockholm School of Economics (SSE). Her research focuses on sustainability accounting, ESG analysis, and climate risk, with empirical work on carbon accounting and consumption-based GHG emissions. She teaches courses on consolidated financial statements and non-financial performance analysis at the bachelor's level and supervises bachelor theses.
She earned her PhD in 2019 with a dissertation titled The Ins and Outs of ESG: A Study on the Spatialities of Accounting Change, which received the Oskar Sillén Prize and a Wallander Scholarship. Her doctoral research, supported by Mistra Financial Systems, examined ESG analysis practices in Nordic asset managers using socio-material theory. She has held roles at Sustainalytics in Frankfurt and currently serves on the editorial board of the Social and Environmental Accountability Journal.
Her recent publications explore topics such as public sustainability target measurement, spatial valuation frameworks, and consumer behavior in climate action. Key awards include the Oskar Sillén Prize and Wallander Scholarship.
Emilia contributes to SSE’s research initiatives like Misum and the Sustainable Finance Initiative, focusing on integrating sustainability into accounting and finance systems.
