معرفی
Emil Damgaard Jensen is a Tenure Track Researcher at the Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Biosustainability, Technical University of Denmark (DTU). His research focuses on synthetic biology, yeast engineering, and metabolic pathway optimization. He leads projects developing yeast-based screening platforms for human health applications, GPCR-based biosensors, and synthetic biology tools for industrial biotechnology.
Research Interests: Genome editing in Saccharomyces cerevisiae, G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs), high-throughput screening, and engineered yeast systems for drug discovery and metabolic engineering. His work contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to health and sustainable biomanufacturing.
Publications: Recent work includes HEEL genotyping technology, dual-species protein expression strategies, and GPCR-based metabolite screening. His articles span synthetic biology applications, metabolic engineering, and yeast-based platforms for medical and industrial use.
Advising: Supervises PhD students including Thomas Rasmussen (synthetic biology/smart farming), Felix Hansson (natural products biosynthesis), and Mikkel Deichmann (immune cell communication tools). Collaborates widely in EU/industry projects.
Labs/Teams: Leads the Synthetic Biology Tools for Yeast group at DTU Microbes Initiative. Engages in cross-disciplinary teams for cell factory development and biotechnological innovation.
