Emelie Havemo is an Assistant Professor at Linköping University, affiliated with the Department of Management and Engineering (IEI) within the Management and IT Research School. Her research explores the interplay between visualization, accounting practices, and organizational management control systems. She holds a Master of Science in Business Administration (2010) and a Licentiate of Economics (2017), both from Linköping University.
Research interests focus on how visualizations (e.g., graphs, diagrams) shape information interpretation and decision-making in organizations. Key themes include challenges arising from integrating visual logic into management control, sustainability reporting under EU regulations (CSRD), and business model innovation. She contributes to advancing 'visual literacy' among practitioners and researchers.
Havemo teaches in the Industrial Engineering and Management program and is part of the Centre for Business Model Innovation (CBMI). Her work addresses digitization's impact on management practices, including studies on mandatory sustainability reporting and digital lean boards in Swedish organizations.
Her publications span journals like Journal of Business Models and explore topics such as business model reconfiguration, sustainable trajectories in innovation, and visual communication in accounting. She collaborates with industry partners to ensure research relevance and practical application.
