معرفی
Emanuela Barberis is a Professor of Physics at Northeastern University's College of Science. Her research focuses on experimental particle physics, particularly using the Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS) experiment at CERN's Large Hadron Collider (LHC). She investigates matter at the smallest scales, searching for new physics beyond the Standard Model, including leptoquarks, dark matter, and Higgs boson interactions. Her work also involves precision measurements of W boson production and upgrades to CMS's muon detection systems.
- Experimental Contributions: Co-led CMS Exotica and Vector Bosons+Jets groups; contributed to Top quark analysis on the DØ experiment at Fermilab.
- Awards: 2025 Breakthrough Prize in Fundamental Physics for LHC research.
- Service: Organized the 2024 Large Hadron Collider Physics conference at Northeastern.
Her research group collaborates internationally on CMS projects, advancing understanding of fundamental particles and their interactions.
