Emanuel Lörtscher is a Senior Research Scientist in the Physical Information group at IBM Research Europe - Zurich's Science of Quantum and Information Technology (SQIT) department. His work spans nanotechnology, molecular electronics, and chemical computing, with a focus on nanoscale electronics, chemistry, and mechanics.

Research Interests
Specializing in Nanotechnology, he develops noise-free labs at the Binnig & Rohrer Nanotechnology Center for advanced fabrication. His work includes:

- Solid-state molecular reaction compartments (NCCR MSE collaboration)
- Implants for on-demand hormone production (ETHZ D-BSSE collaboration)
- Chemical computing via complex reaction networks (EU CoreNet project)
