Emőke Mohr is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Palaeontology, Institute of Geography and Earth Sciences, Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE), with additional lecturer roles at the Department of Palaeontology and the Center of Earth Sciences. Her office is located at 1117 Budapest, Pázmány Péter sétány 1/c., room 0-213. She can be contacted via email at tothemoke@caesar.elte.hu or phone extension 8629.
Her research centers on paleontological and stratigraphic investigations of Central European basins, with a specialization in microfossil analysis. Key areas include:
- Reconstruction of paleoenvironments using ostracods and foraminifera
- Evolution of Paratethyan basins during the Miocene
- Triassic-Cretaceous sedimentary systems
- Biostratigraphic refinement of Pannonian and Transylvanian sequences
- Response of microfauna to oceanic anoxic events
Mohr's recent publications (2015-2022) demonstrate a multidisciplinary approach integrating stratigraphy, sedimentology, and paleoecology. Dominant themes are basin evolution in the Pannonian and Transylvanian systems, ostracod taxonomy, and paleoenvironmental responses to climate transitions. Over 80% of her work focuses on the Miocene-Pliocene, with significant contributions to Triassic and Cretaceous research.
