Elżbieta Pasierowska

Elżbieta Pasierowska serves as Associate Professor at the Stanisław Moniuszko Academy of Music in Gdańsk within the Instrumental Faculty's Department of Piano and Chamber Music. She has held academic positions since 1991, progressing from lecturer to Assistant Professor (2001), and served as Vice-Dean of the Instrumental Faculty (2012-2019) and Head of the Accompaniment Department (2014-2019).

Her research focuses on piano performance practice, chamber music interpretation, and 20th century Polish composers. She specializes in analytical approaches to Witold Lutosławski's chamber works with piano, combining performance expertise with scholarly analysis. Her method integrates historical context with practical interpretation techniques for both solo and collaborative settings.

Her sole major publication analyzes Lutosławski's chamber compositions, establishing connections between compositional structure and performance decisions. This work demonstrates her dual expertise as performer-scholar, addressing both theoretical frameworks and practical execution challenges in contemporary piano repertoire.

Professor Pasierowska has mentored students who collectively earned over 200 competition awards internationally, including first prizes in Szafarnia, Valletta, Riga, and Budapest. She maintains active performance grants through concert series at the Baltic Philharmonic and National Philharmonic, with recording projects supported by DUX and Polish Radio.

She directs chamber ensembles and piano pedagogy initiatives, collaborating with the Warsaw Chamber Opera and participating in the Lutosławski Forum. Her artistic team includes vocalists from major Polish opera institutions for specialized song repertoire projects.
