Elvira Lupoian is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at University College London, supported by the EPSRC Doctoral Prize Fellowship. Previously, she completed her PhD at the University of Warwick under Prof. Samir Siksek and Dr. Damiano Testa. Her research focuses on arithmetic geometry and computational number theory, particularly modular curves, rational/integral points, and modular Jacobians. She has organized events like the Modular Curves and their Arithmetic conference and contributed to study groups on moduli problems of elliptic curves. Her work bridges theoretical and computational aspects of number theory, with recent projects involving torsion subgroups and modular units.
Education: PhD in Mathematics (University of Warwick, 2024), MMath project on class numbers of Z_p extensions (supervised by Prof. Samir Siksek).
Research emphasizes explicit computations in arithmetic geometry, including modular curves' rational points and torsion subgroups of Jacobians. Recent talks include discussions on cuspidal points on modular Jacobians and applications of modular units. She actively contributes to collaborative academic initiatives, such as the London Number Theory Study Group on models of curves and arithmetic applications.
