Eloïse Gennet

Eloïse Gennet is a Junior Professor (Assistant Professor) at Aix-Marseille University, where she is affiliated with the Faculty of Law and Political Science and the International, Comparative and European Law (DICE) research unit. Her work focuses on European Union law, particularly in the areas of health law, bioethics, and biomedical regulations, and she is actively involved in several major research projects including CEJM - Europe to the South, the European Association of Health Law, GIS Euro-Lab, and I-Biolex.

Dr. Gennet's research interests span European Union Law, Health Law, Bioethics, Clinical Trials Regulation, Orphan Medicines, the One Health Approach, Vulnerability in Biomedical Research, and Pharmaceutical Strategy. Her work examines the intersection of law, health, and ethics with particular attention to how EU law addresses complex health challenges, especially in the context of pandemics, biomedical innovations, and the protection of vulnerable populations in clinical research. She has published extensively on the legal frameworks governing biomedical innovations in both binding and non-binding EU law.

Her recent publications demonstrate a strong focus on the One Health approach which integrates human, animal, and environmental health perspectives. Her research analyzes EU pandemic law as a laboratory for One Health, the legal concept of biomedical innovations in EU law, and the Council of Europe's role in fostering equitable access to healthcare during pandemics. Dr. Gennet's work bridges theoretical legal frameworks with practical regulatory challenges in the health sector.

Dr. Gennet is an active contributor to the CERIC research team and works on research axis 5. She regularly presents her findings at international conferences including the Annual Conference of the European Association of Health Law, the European Society for Gene & Cell Therapy Congress, and the EU Health Policy Platform meetings. Her interdisciplinary approach brings together legal scholars, medical researchers, and public health experts to address complex health governance issues.
