Elliott Kuecker

Elliott Kuecker is a Teaching Assistant Professor at the School of Information and Library Science (SILS) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. His expertise spans archives and record management, qualitative research methods, and critical library science. He holds a PhD in Educational Theory & Practice from the University of Georgia, a Graduate Certificate in Interdisciplinary Qualitative Studies, an MLIS from Valdosta State University, and degrees in English from the University of Florida.

His research focuses on critical archival studies, particularly children's roles as creators and archivists, and qualitative methodologies in educational and library contexts. He has published in journals like Archivaria, Journal of Childhood Studies, and Qualitative Inquiry. His work emphasizes ethical practices in archiving, community engagement, and radical pedagogical approaches.

Professionally, he advises SILS' Student Chapter of the Society of American Archivists and the Queer Information and Library Collective. He also serves on the Society of American Archivists' Research, Data, and Assessment Committee and the Society of North Carolina Archivists' Education Committee. His prior roles include managing a digital humanities lab and advocating for marginalized communities through library initiatives like books-to-prisoners programs.
