Elliott Denton

Elliott Denton is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB), affiliated with the Craig Hawker Group in the Materials and Research Laboratory (MRL). His academic background includes a BSc in Chemistry from the University of Sheffield, a MSc(Res) from Bristol University, and a Ph.D. from ETH Zurich, where his doctoral work focused on palladium-catalyzed carbofunctionalization reactions of acid chlorides and unsaturated C–C bonds.

Research Focus

Elliott’s research expertise lies in organic synthesis, particularly in the development of catalytic methods for functionalizing acid chlorides and unsaturated hydrocarbons. His work includes the application of bifunctional norbornenes in ring-opening metathesis polymerization (ROMP) during a collaboration at Seoul National University.
