معرفی
Dr. Allegra Franchino is an Assistant Professor in Organic Chemistry at Durham University, UK. Her research focuses on the integration of transition-metal and organocatalysis for stereoselective synthesis of bioactive compounds and heterocycles. She holds a PhD from the University of Oxford (2017) and has held postdoctoral positions at ICIQ, Spain (MSCA COFUND fellow), and ETH Zurich (Morandi Lab).
- Education: BSc and MSc in Asymmetric Catalysis (University of Milan, RWTH Aachen), PhD in Organic Chemistry (Oxford).
- Research: Combines transition-metal catalysis (gold, iron) and organocatalysis (bifunctional ligands), emphasizing non-covalent interactions and mechanistic studies (kinetics, NMR spectroscopy).
- Awards: Secured over 1.8m€ in funding, including a UKRI Future Leaders Fellowship. Previously supported by an MSCA COFUND fellowship.
- Students: Supervising PhD student Riccardo Parolin (EPSRC DTP scholarship).
