Ellen Wagner

Ellen Wagner is a lecturer for special tasks in the field of screen printing at the Offenbach University of Art and Design (HfG Offenbach), where she co-leads the screen printing workshop with Axel Rössler since the winter semester of 2022. She is affiliated with the Faculty of Art, specializing in practical and artistic applications of screen printing in both textile and paper media.

Her research and creative interests span screen printing, textile design, illustration, and visual communication. Her work bridges applied design and independent artistic expression, often rooted in collaborative and autobiographical narratives.

Ellen Wagner’s artistic projects, such as Apple, Medlar & Quince, Southwest(en), and Piatti Anniversary Lamp, reflect a deep engagement with pattern, cultural identity, and technical innovation in print media. These works demonstrate a consistent focus on repeat printing, color layering, and material experimentation.

She received project funding from the Hessian Cultural Foundation for her large-format wall hanging Southwest(en), highlighting institutional recognition of her artistic contributions.

Ellen Wagner co-founded the screen printing label "Print now - Riot later" with Axel Rössler in 2014 during a stay in Tucson, Arizona. The label operates from Maintal, Germany, and produces limited-edition textile prints and serigraphic artworks. The collaborative studio functions as both a creative enterprise and a practical extension of her pedagogical and artistic work at HfG Offenbach.

Their joint projects, including exhibitions like Flatlands: Serigraphs by Ellen Wagner & Axel Rössler, are regularly presented in public venues, reinforcing her active presence in the artistic community.
