Ellen R. Langer

Ellen R. Langer is a Lecturer Emerita at the University of California, Berkeley, affiliated with the Department of Slavic Languages and Literatures. She holds a Ph.D. in Slavic Languages and Literatures from UC Berkeley. Her teaching focuses on Czech language, literature, and culture, while her research encompasses norm and variation in Slavic languages, 19th-century Russian literature (including analyses of grammatical variation in *Anna Karenina*), and pedagogical approaches to heritage and less commonly taught languages. Current projects include developing elementary Czech language curricula and studying instrumental singular variation in 19th-century Russian prose.
