Ellen O’Brien

Ellen O’Brien serves as a Visiting Fellow at the School of Cybernetics within the College of Systems & Society at The Australian National University. She leads cross-sector projects with industry, government, and community partners to navigate organizational change through emerging technologies, specializing in the societal implications of data-driven systems.

Her educational background includes:

• Master’s degree in International Relations
• Bachelor’s degree in Creative Writing

Ellen’s research integrates Cybernetics, Artificial Intelligence, and Systems Thinking to address organizational transformation challenges. She focuses on responsible AI implementation frameworks and uses technological systems as research methodologies, contributing significantly to ANU’s 3A Institute (3AI) and School of Cybernetics initiatives. Her interdisciplinary approach bridges technical innovation with human-centered design principles.
