Ellen R. Cohn, PhD, CCC-SLP, is a part-time Lecturer in the Department of Communication and Rhetoric at the University of Pittsburgh. She previously held roles including Professor of Communication Science and Disorders, Associate Dean for Instructional Development in the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences, and Interim Director of the Undergraduate Program in Rehabilitation. Her professional contributions include co-authoring eight books on topics such as diversity in higher education, telerehabilitation, and assistive communication technologies.
- Education: PhD in Communication Science and Disorders
Her research focuses on telerehabilitation ethics, cultural aspects of communication, and disability law. She co-developed the University of Pittsburgh School of Law’s Certificate Program in Disability Law and the MSL with a Concentration in Disability Law.
As founding Editor of the International Journal of Telerehabilitation, she has advanced global discourse on telepractice. Her award-winning work includes a 2019 article addressing ethical dimensions of telehealth delivery.
