Ella Susmanek

Ella Susmanek is a Professor at Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw, where she has taught since 1972 and was appointed full professor in 2012. She served as Vice-Dean of the Vocal Faculty from 2005 to 2012 and remains an active pedagogue and performer.

Research & Artistic Focus: Professor Susmanek specializes in piano performance and chamber music collaboration. Her career centers on solo recitals at iconic venues like Warsaw's Łazienki Park and Orangery, alongside extensive work with vocalists and instrumentalists. She actively mentors emerging artists through international music courses and competitions, emphasizing historical performance practice and collaborative artistry in classical repertoire.

Artistic Leadership: She has guided young artists in over 60 national and international competitions, many achieving major distinctions. Her collaborations span prestigious festivals including Wratislavia Cantans, Jan Kiepura Festival, and Karol Szymanowski Music Festival. Celebrated her 45th anniversary of artistic work with a gala concert at Witold Lutosławski Polish Radio Studio in 2017.
