Ella Maysami

Dr. Ella Maysami is a Lecturer in Neuroscience at the School of Life Sciences, Keele University. She holds a PhD from the Medical University of Hannover and has conducted postdoctoral research at institutions including Legacy Health Research Hospital (USA) and the University of Manchester. Her research focuses on neuroregeneration, biomarker analysis, and stroke mechanisms, with over 15 peer-reviewed publications and two book chapters. She teaches modules on Brain Disease, Neuropharmacology, and Special Senses, and contributes to programs in Cognitive Neuroscience and Pharmacology.

Dr. Maysami’s educational background includes a 1st-class honors degree from Melli University of Medical Sciences, an MSc in Molecular Genetics from the University of Leicester, and advanced degrees in Higher Education Proficiency (Keele) and Bio-Health Informatics (Sheffield). She is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and an accredited external examiner for UK and German institutions.

Her professional activities include leadership in AURORA (Advance HE’s women’s leadership initiative) and roles as a reviewer for journals like Stroke and Experimental Neurology.
