Elizabeth W. Mayo serves as an Instructor at the Eastman School of Music, teaching beginner harp courses and providing secondary harp instruction through Eastman and her private studio offering in-person and Zoom lessons.
Her academic background includes a Bachelor's degree in Harp Performance and Music Teaching and Learning from the Eastman School of Music, with current enrollment in their Master's program in Harp Performance. She holds New York State teaching certification.
Professionally, Ms. Mayo maintains an active performance career as principal harp substitute for the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra and principal harpist for multiple ensembles including the Cayuga Chamber Orchestra, Binghamton Community Orchestra, Ithaca Orchestra, Ithaca Wind Ensemble, Roberts Wesleyan College Orchestra, and Cornell Wind Ensemble.
Her educational focus centers on harp pedagogy and performance practice, reflected in both institutional teaching and private studio instruction. Outside music, she pursues outdoor activities including hiking, fishing, skiing, bird watching, and photography.
