Elizabeth W. Boyer

Elizabeth W. Boyer is a Professor in the Department of Ecosystem Science and Management at The Pennsylvania State University (Penn State) and a member of the Institute for Energy and the Environment (IEE). Her research focuses on coupled hydrological, ecological, and biogeochemical processes influencing streamflow and water quality, with emphasis on designing land management strategies to mitigate pollution and conserve surface waters.

Her work spans diverse topics including soil moisture dynamics, climate change impacts, and the effects of wildfires on hydrology. Notable achievements include the 2021 Black Award for Excellence in Research, AAAS Fellowship (2020), and recognition by the American Geophysical Union (2018).
