Prof Elizabeth Sturgiss is a clinical general practitioner and primary care researcher at Bond University's Faculty of Health Sciences & Medicine, where she serves as Professor of Community Clinical Education. She is actively involved in PhD supervision.

Her research focuses on translating clinical guidelines into real-world practice and implementing innovative interventions for chronic disease management in primary care. She integrates principles from behavior change and implementation science.
Recent work includes improving equity in clinical guidelines, analyzing weight discussions in GP consultations, and addressing chronic pain in children and adolescents. She has also contributed to global health research during the COVID-19 pandemic and developed the CRISP reporting checklist for primary care studies.
