Dr. Elizabeth Squirell is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Gastroenterology at Queen’s University’s Department of Medicine. Her academic journey includes a BSc in Psychology (2014, University of Alberta), an MD (2017, University of Calgary), a Master’s in Clinical Epidemiology, and specialized training in Internal Medicine, Gastroenterology, and Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) at multiple Canadian institutions.

Her research focuses on population-level epidemiology of chronic conditions, particularly IBD’s long-term implications, including women’s health, pregnancy, and preventative care.
