Elizabeth (Beth) Scott is an Associate Professor and Chair of the MLA Program at the University of Illinois. She previously served as Program Chair at the University of Idaho and coordinated urban design initiatives at the Urban Design Center in Boise. Her work bridges professional practice and academic research, emphasizing resilience in urban systems and climate adaptation.

She combines landscape systems research with visualization tools to inform urban planning decisions.
Publications: Her two most recent articles address sustainable transportation in Yellowstone National Park and resilience strategies for midsize cities, reflecting a trend toward interdisciplinary solutions for urban sustainability challenges.
Grants and Advising: Scott collaborated on the Idaho EPSCoR Managing Idaho’s Landscapes for Ecosystem Services project and advised Master’s student Mandi Roberts.
