Elizabeth Sargent is an Associate Professor at the University of the Cumberlands, with over 30 years of experience as a practicing physical therapist. She is a board-certified orthopedic clinical specialist and a Fellow in the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists. Dr. Sargent's expertise focuses on musculoskeletal patient management, biomechanics, kinesiology, and clinical reasoning, and she actively provides physical therapy services in rural and medically underserved areas of Vermont.
Her research interests emphasize the role of physical therapists in primary care teams, integrating musculoskeletal patient management with biomechanical and kinesiological principles to improve clinical outcomes. Dr. Sargent's dedication to innovation in teaching has been recognized with the Dean's Faculty Innovation in Teaching Award at the University of Vermont in 2022.

She resides in northern Vermont with her family, where she enjoys rock climbing, alpine climbing, hiking, and backcountry skiing.
