Dr. Elizabeth Monier is an Assistant Professor of Modern Arabic Studies at the University of Cambridge's Faculty of Asian and Middle Eastern Studies. Her research focuses on identity politics, contemporary Middle Eastern politics with a regional emphasis on Egypt and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states, and the inclusion of religious minorities. She holds a PhD in Politics and International Studies from the University of Cambridge and is affiliated with the Cambridge Interfaith Research Forum, Cambridge Zero Advisory Board, and the Centre for Geopolitics. Her work explores themes such as nationalism, state-building, sectarianism, and the intersection of regional power dynamics with global politics.

Dr. Monier actively contributes to policy discussions, serving on the Academic Advisory Board for Cambridge Zero and advising projects such as the Young Scientists’ Support Program (Armenia). Her interdisciplinary approach bridges historical, political, and sociological dimensions of Middle Eastern studies.
