Elizabeth McClure is a Lecturer in the Department of English at the University of Maryland. She holds a PhD in English with a focus on Victorian literature. Her teaching and research interests span from medieval texts like Beowulf to Victorian works like Dracula, and include topics such as queer adaptations, the history of science, and rhetorical theory. She has taught at institutions including the University of Delaware, American University, and the College of Micronesia, as well as served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Micronesia.
Her recent courses at UMD include Technical Writing, Victorian Literature, Queer Adaptations, and Academic Writing. McClure has also presented research at conferences such as the 2023 Conference on College Composition and Communication, addressing the social justice implications of divisions within English departments.
