Elizabeth M. McClure

Elizabeth M. McClure, PhD, is an Adjunct Associate Professor in the Department of Maternal and Child Health at the University of North Carolina Gillings School of Global Public Health. She specializes in global maternal and newborn health research, particularly in low-resource settings. Her work focuses on reducing mortality through interventions like antenatal corticosteroids for preterm birth, newborn resuscitation training, and gestational age assessment via ultrasound. She leads the Global Network for Women's & Children's Health Research data center and collaborates with the NIH and Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Dr. McClure has over 15 years of experience, with studies conducted in India, Pakistan, sub-Saharan Africa, and Guatemala. She actively serves on the Scientific Advisory Committee of the International Stillbirth Alliance and contributes to the Every Newborn Action Plan (ENAP) metrics.

Education: PhD in Epidemiology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (2013).
