معرفی
Elizabeth Leger is a Foundation Professor and Director of the Museum of Natural History at the University of Nevada, Reno, with joint appointments in the Department of Biology and the Ecology, Evolution & Conservation Biology graduate program. Her research focuses on plant population biology, restoration ecology, and the evolutionary responses of native and invasive species.
Her research investigates local adaptation, rapid evolution in response to environmental change, plant-animal interactions, and restoration strategies for degraded ecosystems. Key areas include Great Basin restoration, cheatgrass invasion ecology, native plant conservation, and seed system development.
Recent publications reflect a focus on restoration science, including native plant adaptation, seed sourcing strategies, invasive species management, and ecosystem recovery in arid environments. Work integrates ecological theory with practical restoration applications.
She leads the Leger Lab which focuses on conserving Nevada's plant diversity through research bridging science and practice. The lab provides seed cleaning and storage services supporting regional restoration efforts.
