Elizabeth King

Elizabeth King is Assistant Professor in Simon Fraser University's Faculty of Health Sciences and practicing Infectious Diseases specialist. Her research addresses health inequities experienced by women living with HIV, focusing on two primary areas: 1) Menopausal health and symptom management in HIV-positive women, and 2) Pharmacokinetics/pharmacodynamics of antiretrovirals during aging transitions.

Using community-based mixed methods approaches, her work examines how biological, social, and structural factors create disparate aging trajectories. Current projects investigate hormone therapy safety, bone health, and cardiovascular risk during menopausal transition in HIV populations.

Dr. King completed her MD at UBC and Infectious Diseases fellowship through the Clinician Investigator Program, supported by CIHR, MSFHR, and CTN scholarships. She seeks to develop evidence-based guidelines for comprehensive care of aging women with HIV.
