Elizabeth Kindall is an Associate Professor in the Department of Art History at the University of St. Thomas. Her research focuses on Chinese painting from the fourteenth to eighteenth centuries, with particular emphasis on farewell culture, landscape identity, and representations of the Yandang and Mount Jizu mountain ranges.

Her publications include peer-reviewed articles in The Art Bulletin, T'oung Pao, and Artibus Asiae, as well as chapters in edited volumes. Her research explores intersections of geography, biography, and religious experience in Chinese painting. She has co-curated the exhibition The Lady at the Window: Figure Painting in the Qing Dynasty at the Berkeley Art Museum and received multiple research grants, including the University Scholars Grant (2018-2021).
