Dr. Elizabeth Hopwood serves as an Advanced Lecturer in the Department of English at Loyola University Chicago, while also acting as Director of the Center for Textual Studies and Digital Humanities and Graduate Program Director of the Digital Humanities Master's Program. She holds a BA from Connecticut College, an MA from Salem State University, and a PhD from Northeastern University.
Her research focuses on 19th-century Atlantic literature, food studies, digital humanities design, and public-facing scholarship. Notable works include analyses of American cookbook culture and collaborative digital pedagogy projects.
Her recent publications explore intersections between culinary history and literary culture, as well as innovative teaching methodologies. She actively contributes to digital archives and new media projects within the humanities.
