Elizabeth Hardin

Dr. Elizabeth Hardin is a Biomedical Engineer at the Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center and Investigator at the Cleveland FES Center. Her research focuses on improving mobility for individuals with neurological disorders through neuroprosthetic technologies and rehabilitation engineering.

Her primary research areas include lower extremity biomechanics, neuroprosthetic systems for gait restoration, and the application of virtual reality combined with noninvasive brain stimulation for Parkinson's and stroke rehabilitation. She collaborates on developing optimized prosthetic designs and implanted stimulation systems for spinal cord injury patients.

Research programs include:

• Subthalamic deep brain stimulation to modulate vestibular perception in Parkinson's
• Transcranial direct current stimulation for post-stroke gait rehab
• Cyclical focal muscle vibration systems for multiple sclerosis
