Elizabeth Fisher-Frank is a Senior Lecturer at the Essex Law School, University of Essex. She is a non-practising solicitor with extensive experience in social welfare law, family law, and children’s rights. Her work focuses on improving access to justice for vulnerable youth through legal projects and advocacy. She has served on the Law Society’s Family Committee and Children Panel, contributing to legal policy and practice. Fisher-Frank holds a Creative Writing MA and produces legal-themed literature.
Her research explores clinical legal education’s role in fostering ethical practice, resilience during global challenges, and the impact of legal policies like the UK’s 'no recourse to public funds' rule on families. Presentations include discussions on reflective practice in law clinics and transformative legal education at global conferences.
Teaching responsibilities include Family Law (LW214), Legal Ethics and Justice (LW352), and supervision of the Law Placement Year (LW400). She has advised on CILEX’s family law course materials and contributed to collaborative research on access to justice during the pandemic.
