Elizabeth Ellison

Associate Professor Elizabeth Ellison is the Dean of Research at UniSA Creative, University of South Australia. She holds a PhD from Queensland University of Technology (QUT), focusing on textual representations of the Australian beach. Her research spans cultural studies, sports history, and creative industries, with notable work on beach soccer, Australian cricket scandals, and regional arts policy. Previously Deputy Dean (Research) at Central Queensland University’s School of Education & the Arts, she led applied arts research valued at $4M+, including public art trails and arts business micro-credentials.

Educational Background: PhD in Cultural Studies (QUT), postgraduate teaching roles at QUT and CQUniversity, and coordination of the Creative Arts Research Training Academy (CARTA).
