Elizabeth D. Brookins

Elizabeth D. Brookins is an Associate Professor in the Department of Life Sciences at Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (ACPHS), serving as Director of Pre-Professional Pathways. She holds a Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences from Albany Medical College, an M.S. from the same institution, and a B.S. in Biochemistry from Siena College. Her work focuses on anatomy/physiology and advising best practices for health professions students. She has authored articles on survey analysis in academic advising and regional meeting planning, emphasizing leadership development and institutional collaboration.

Brookins is actively involved in professional organizations such as the Northeast Association of Advisors for the Health Professions (NEAAHP), where she served as President Elect (2018–2020), and the National Association of Advisors for the Health Professions (NAAHP). Her presentations address topics like ‘Writing Challenging Letters for Admissions Committees’ and ‘Developing Measurable Objectives for Advisors.’
