With a PhD in Biomechanics and a background in Mechanical Biomedical Engineering, she has over 15 years of experience in independent research, industry collaboration, and clinical partnerships.
- Academic Role: Director of Biomechanics Laboratory
- Key Affiliations: Kolling Institute, Faculty of Medicine and Health
Her research spans injury biomechanics, orthopaedic implant testing, and tendon/ligament repair, with a focus on preventing post-traumatic osteoarthritis. Recent work includes developing custom biomechanical testing fixtures and in vivo animal models for musculoskeletal injuries.
Scientific Trends across her 2025-2024 articles include:
- Biomechanical evaluation of fracture fixation devices
- Spinal cord injury modeling
- Comparative tendon/ligament property analysis
- Mechanical load effects on tissue health
Grants include funding from the Arthritis Foundation of Australia, Innovative Manufacturing CRC, and AOSpine Asia Pacific for projects like xenograft tendon development and robotic surgical simulation. She teaches the Biomechanics component of Biomedical Engineering courses.
