Dr. Elizabeth Clarke is a Sessional Faculty member in Piano and Classical Music Coordinator at Ambrose University, Calgary. She maintains a private studio at Calgary Music Academy, teaching students from young children to adults. She previously held an Assistant Professor in Residence position at Bradley University, IL, where she taught piano, aural skills, and music history. Her roles include performer, collaborator, and teacher, with extensive experience in accompaniment for singers, instrumentalists, and church settings.
Clarke holds a B.M. in Piano Performance (University of Alberta, Augustana Campus), M.M. in Piano Performance (University of Victoria), and DMA in Piano Performance & M.M. in Music Theory (Michigan State University). She has received notable awards, including the Governor General’s Silver Medal and SSHRC funding.
Her research interests focus on piano performance pedagogy and music history, complemented by her work with the chamber duo There is Room. She emphasizes student-centered teaching, supporting long-term musical growth through RCM exams, masterclasses, and performance opportunities.
