معرفی
Dr. Elizabeth Bryda is a Curators Distinguished Professor of Veterinary Pathobiology at the University of Missouri. Her research focuses on developing and characterizing animal models to study human genetic diseases, including polycystic kidney disease, hereditary deafness, and inflammatory bowel disease. She leads the Rat Resource and Research Center, which provides genetic resources for biomedical research. Her work integrates comparative medicine, CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing, and microbiome studies in rodents and zebrafish.
Education: PhD in 1992 from Rutgers University.
Research Interests: Her lab employs rodent and zebrafish models to elucidate molecular pathways of disease-causing genes. Recent studies include microbiome impacts on zebrafish stress behaviors, embryonic stem cell engineering, and cryopreservation of genetic lines. Techniques include AAV-mediated CRISPR editing, transgenesis, and in vitro fertilization.
Publications Highlight: Over 150 peer-reviewed articles focus on genome editing efficiency, novel disease models, and microbiome interactions. Recent trends emphasize CRISPR innovation and cryoresuscitation of legacy genetic strains.
Labs/Teams: Director of the Rat Resource and Research Center, collaborating with institutions globally to provide standardized genetic resources for researchers.
