Bent's research bridges creative writing and performance studies, focusing on non-linear narratives and identity exploration. Her work often combines theatrical innovation with social commentary, seen in residencies at MacDowell Colony and Lower Manhattan Cultural Council. Notably, she toured internationally with Half Straddle ensemble.
Notable works include Toilet Fire, The Hotel Colors (2013), and Blue Wizard / Black Wizard. These span adaptation, hybrid performance, and experimental storytelling across venues like Bushwick Starr and Berkeley Rep. Her writing appears in Time Out New York, Village Voice, and ELLE.
