Dr Elise Alexander is a Research Fellow and Project Coordinator at the Centre for Aboriginal Medical and Dental Health (CAMDH), UWA Medical School, University of Western Australia. She specializes in culturally safe cognitive assessment tools for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and psychosocial impacts of parental cancer on children.
- PhD in Psychology, Curtin University (2013-2022)
Her research focuses on Indigenous health equity, dementia prevention, psychosocial factors, and psycho-oncology. She leads NHMRC MRFF-funded studies on the Kimberley Indigenous Cognitive Assessment (KICA), a gold-standard tool embedded in national policy.
Recent research trends include systematic reviews of KICA validation, dementia prevention trials, and psychosocial models for children living with parental cancer. Her work aligns with SDG 3 (Health) and SDG 4 (Education).
