Elisabetta Pallante is a Full Professor at the University of Groningen, affiliated with the Faculty of Science and Engineering and the High-Energy Frontier — Van Swinderen Institute for Particle Physics and G. She holds a PhD from Sapienza University of Rome and has held prestigious fellowships at SISSA, NORDITA, and as a Rosalind Franklin Fellow. Her research focuses on theoretical physics, including particle physics phenomenology, lattice field theory, conformal field theories, and black hole dynamics. She has contributed to groundbreaking work on the Standard Model, beyond-Standard-Model physics, and the conformal window of QCD. Additionally, she serves as Deputy Director of the FSE Honours College and participates in various national committees, including the NWO Physics Round Table and the NWO Committee for the Scientific Use of Supercomputers.
- Education: PhD in Physics, Sapienza University of Rome (1993)
- Positions: Marie Curie Fellow (NORDITA), Ramón y Cajal Fellow (Spain), Rosalind Franklin Fellow (Groningen)
Research Interests: Theoretical physics, perturbative/nonperturbative strong interactions, lattice field theory, black hole instabilities, and non-Abelian conformal gauge theories. Her work bridges analytical and numerical methods in hep-th communities.
Her research trends emphasize exploring conformal dynamics, QCD-like theories, and holographic models, with recent focus on black hole quasinormal modes and scalar field dynamics in AdS spacetimes. She has also contributed to understanding the interplay between topology, meson spectra, and conformality loss in gauge theories.
- Committees: NWO Physics Round Table, NWO Committee for Supercomputers, DRSTP Governing Board
She has pioneered studies on muon g-2, CP violation, and the use of effective field theory in lattice simulations. Her leadership in educational initiatives includes founding and directing the FSE Honours College (2010–2020).
