Her research explores the intersections of fashion, gender, politics, and visual culture in the eighteenth century. Key areas include underwear, accessories, graphic satire, and the material life of garments. She examines how dress functioned as cultural currency, reflecting and shaping societal norms. Her work combines material analysis with archival and visual research, bridging art history and cultural studies.
The recent publications and outputs reflect a strong trend in analyzing specific garments—such as stockings, banyans, and feather muffs—as lenses into broader historical themes like masculinity, temporality, patriotism, and global trade. Her scholarship emphasizes the agency of dress in political and social discourse, particularly through satire and portraiture.
