Elisabeth Ellington

Elisabeth Ellington, PhD, is a Senior Teaching Consultant at Carnegie Mellon University's Eberly Center, where she joined in 2024. She supports faculty through consultations, seminars, and workshops focused on teaching and learning strategies. Prior to this role, she served as an Associate Professor and Teacher Educator at a liberal arts college, teaching General Education courses, English majors, and pre-service teachers. Her expertise spans literature education and pedagogical innovation, informed by her Ph.D. in Restoration and 18th-Century British Literature from Brandeis University. She also has experience teaching high school English Language Arts.

Her research interests emphasize effective teaching practices, student engagement, and curriculum design. While her current position focuses on faculty development, her prior academic work likely intersects with literature pedagogy and educational theory.
