Elisabeth Einarsson

Elisabeth Einarsson is a Senior Lecturer in Earth Science with a specialization in palaeontology and didactics of earth sciences at the Faculty of Natural Science, Kristianstad University. She serves as Deputy Dean, Programmes Director, and Board Member of the Faculty of Natural Science, while leading initiatives in the Learning in Science and Mathematics (LISMA) and Sustainable Multifunctional Landscapes (SMULA) programs.

Her research focuses on two primary areas: palaeontological studies of Late Cretaceous ecosystems in southern Sweden and innovative didactical approaches in earth sciences education. She investigates fossil records like plesiosaurs and mangrove communities to reconstruct ancient environments, while also exploring interdisciplinary methods for teaching sustainable development in secondary schools.

Recent research output spans palaeontological analysis (e.g., bone histology of marine reptiles), climate change education (deep-time perspectives integrating astronomy and geology), and pedagogical frameworks for sustainable development. Her work emphasizes hands-on learning and collaboration with regional educational institutions.
