Elisabeth Bergdahl is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Health Sciences, Örebro University, Sweden. She holds a PhD in nursing (2012) and has worked at the university since 2019. Her research focuses on palliative care, qualitative research methods, and ethical dilemmas in end-of-life care. She leads the RIPE research group (Research in Palliative Care), examining topics like emergency interventions for terminally ill patients and co-creation in healthcare.
Key research interests include theoretical development in nursing, ethical sensitivity in practice, and improving palliative care delivery through co-creative approaches. She has published extensively on palliative care ethics, nursing leadership, and methodological innovations in qualitative research. Current projects include studying ambulance transports for elderly palliative patients and national surveys of family caregiver experiences.
Bergdahl teaches palliative care, nursing theory, and qualitative methods at undergraduate and doctoral levels. She collaborates internationally, including with researchers in VASA Finland. Her work bridges practical clinical challenges with theoretical advancements, emphasizing evidence-based practice and patient-centered care.
